Driving a Modo

Yes. We ask members to perform a pre- and post-trip walk-around inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good condition. If you spot any visible defects (e.g. dents, scratches, other damage) larger than a fob and not already marked with a sticker, or if any service icon appears on the vehicle’s dashboard, let us know right away. Send a description and photo using our app or by email, or call us — before you drive away. Note that you may be held liable for the damage if you don’t tell us before or after you drive and another member reports it after you.

Members are responsible for any metered or paid parking during their trip. There are some areas in the Lower Mainland where Modo members can park without paying and without worry. However, these parking privileges vary by city, municipality and district.

Park free in resident only and permit only zones in City of Vancouver
New: Park your Modo free for up to 2-hours at all on-street metered stalls in the City of Vancouver (does not include private parking stalls; e.g. EasyPark)

‍VICTORIA

Park free in resident-only zones the City of Victoria if you’re a resident, or visiting one. Proof of residency is required by the City.
Members driving a Modo may make a free two-hour stopover at any City of Victoria parkade. Please park in a free, unrestricted spot. If your trip is under 90 minutes, you may use a free short-stay parking stall. If you are using an EV, you can park and charge your EV in the supplied stalls.The list of parkades is as follows:

City of Kelowna on-street metered parking
New: All Modo vehicles in Kelowna are equipped with ECO-Pass permits, allowing up to two hours at metered parking stalls. The permit must be displayed from the rearview mirror when parked, incorrectly displayed permits are considered invalid.‍‍

‍A few friendly parking reminders:

You can’t park (stop over or end your booking) in a Modo stall other than your Modo’s assigned home location, where you picked it up.
Don’t park where signs prohibit parking.
Keep at least six metres between your vehicle and stop signs, and fire hydrants.
Only park in the direction traffic travels.
Make sure you’re no more than 12 inches from the curb to avoid potential fines.
Alleyways and driveways require at least 1.5 metres between them and your vehicle.
Private parking stalls are not covered by parking privileges (e.g. EasyPark).
